Uproar in Assembly over PMs changed programme

The change in the Prime Minister visit to the State on July 1st from Anantapur to Kurnool created a furore by the opposition parties especially TDP. The president of the TDP party said that the Congress Government has deliberately altered Dr.Manmohan Singh's programme to avoid his visit to Anantapur district where, he alleged, Congressmen had murdered several Telugu Desam activists in the recent past.
Reacting sharply, the Chief Minister, YS Rajasekhara Reddy, explained that the PM’s visit to Anantapur was dropped at the instance of the PMO due to technical reasons.

Government will continue thrust on IT

The Principal Secretary, Department of Information and Communication, JC.Mohanty, on Monday clarified that the State Government would pursue the IT policy. He was addressing the inaugural address at the three-day national seminar on Business and IT-2004 with the theme enterprise resources planning in Ukkunagaram Steel Township. The Local Chapter of Computer Society of India and Visakhapatnam Steel Plant are jointly organising the seminar being attended by 200 delegates from IBM, Oracle and sever other IT companies.
