The Government has asked the PW naxalites to name two or three persons as their representatives for inclusion in the committee being formed for talks. The Home Minister said on Monday that the naxalites can names the persons through its emissaries if any. The Government is firm on ready for talks with the naxals. The government is happy that the restraint exercised by the PW creating a congenial atmosphere required for talks.

Search for missing fishermen continues

No discontinuation of Mid-day meal scheme

The Minister for Primary Education, N.Rajyalakshmi, has said that the mid-day meal scheme programme will be continued in all schools. Addressing a press conference on Monday, she said that while an amount of Rs.69.94 crores was spent on the scheme during the year 2002-03, the amount spent during 2003-04 was Rs.250 crores. She said that the formulation of a plan for the integrated development of education sector. Nearly 60 per cent of the books out of the requirement was already made and rest will be completed by month-end.
