The Chief Minister, YS.Rajasekhara Reddy whose birthday falls on 8th July, has decided not to celebrate in view of the hardship being faced by farmers in the State for the last three years. In an appeal to people, the Chief Minister requested that none should try to greet him through advertisements in newspapers or through TV channels of other ways according to a press release issued by Chief Minister's office on Monday.

VUDA starts Licensing system to streamline operations

Builders, technical persons and real estate developers and those connected with construction activities have to obtain licenses from the Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority from next month. VUDA has already issued a notification to this effect and seeking applications for obtaining licenses. Visakhapatnam is the first city in the country to introduce this system. Obtaining licenses is mandatory with the development Control Regulation contained in the Master Plan. The system is intended to safeguard public interest an arrest mushroom growth of developers and builders.

Bid to commit suicide in Assembly premises

Yadaiah, the chairman of a school committee in Narasmpet constituency of Warangal attempted to commit suicide in the premises of AP Assembly. He said to the reporters that he was frustrated over the hurdles created by the administration in clearing bills for construction of a school building under the DPEP.All his efforts were failed to clear off the bills by the administration and concerned officials demanded a bribe of Rs.10,000 as bribe for release of Rs.50,000 for the construction he took the extreme step.
