Suicide bid by nursing student - BJP demands College Principal arrest
The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha on Wednesday demanded immediate arrest of the Principal of a private nursing college in the city for driving a student to attempt suicide by jumping from the top of the college building. The BJYM State vice president and its city unit president said that the Principal of Esskay College of Nursing had allegedly told the students and parents that the management had enough political influence and money to save its skin. So far the police has not arrested the principal This incident was purely the harassment by the principal according to the statements by many students.
Farmers end lives
In various incidents in Vizianagaram, Guntur and Rajahmundry, three farmers committed suicide due to debts and other reasons.
College Principal arrested
The Cuddapah one town police arrested the principal of Padala Rami Reddy college of Physiotherapy and a former student following a complaint by AISF leaders that these two were collecting money from the final year students by threatening to fail them in practical examinations.
Godavari action plan
The Major Irrigation Minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah on Wednesday said the Government would come out with a comprehensive integrated plan for utilization of Godavari waters for irrigation, drinking water and industrial purposes.
VRS for 213 employees
Sri Vijayarama Gajapathi Cooperatives Sugars limited has proposed to offer voluntary retirement to 213 employees on its rolls. The proposal was submitted to the Commissioner in tune with the condition set forth by the Minister for Major Industries B. Satyanarayana for reopening the unit. According to sources, the factory is running in losses and left with no alternative but to opt for this step.
Criminal cases against Kakarla Subbarao
Hyderabad Basing on a complaint lodged by an advocate in connection with the shoot out incident involving film actor Balakrishna, the Panjagutta police registered against the Care Hospital Director B.Somaraju and the former Director of NIIMS Kakarla Subbarao. Basing on the court directions, criminal cases were booked against these two for shielding the film star under the plea for shielding Balakrishna.
Cloud seeding fails to take off
Hyderabad The Chief Minister, YS Rajasekhara Reddy flagged off the aircraft meant for Meghamadanam, the 105 day programme to seed the clouds and make them heavy enough to shower the State with rain. As no suitable clouds were found in the proposed operational area., the aircraft could not take off.
