A woman and three children were killed instantaneously when the roof of their house collapsed at Ujjail village in Maganur mandal of Mahabubnagar while in a bid to repair the roof the house.
VUDA launches housing project for daily wagers

After a long gap, the State Government appears to have finally decided to streamline procedures for the grant of minority status certificates for admission and appointment to minority educational institutions. The Government recently issued new guidelines to regulate the issuance of minority status certificates to educational institutions aimed at protecting the interests of students from minority communities.
Eight Dalits incurred in clash
Guntur
Eight Dalits were incurred, two of them seriously, when about 50 persons of Mandavaram village belonging to upper castes clashed with Dalits of Krishnaipalem near Mangalagiri over a minor issue on Wednesday. The law and order situation in Managalagiri turned tense this afternoon following the clash and the Dalits organized a 'rasto roko' on National Highway for some time demanding action against those who had attacked them.
Naxals kill TDP leader

People's War naxalites shot dead a Telugu Desam Party lead and severely insured another in Nimmalapadu village of Karampudi mandal in the early hours of Wednesday. A 15 member team of the naxalites dragged the TDP leader Paturi Mallayya, out of his relative's house and shot him dead from point blank range.
TRS to release first list on February 11

Virtually ruling out the possibility of having an electoral tie up with the Congress, the TRS president K.Chandrasekararao Rao has announced that the first list of his party's nominees for the Assembly and Lok Sabha elections will be released on February 11 after performing puja at Lord Narasimha Swamy's temple at Yadagirigutta. After releasing the first list, Mr.Rao will formally launch his election campaign, 'Telangana atma gourva yatra' from the from the same place. He will travel fro most part in a specially made air conditioned bus and opt for a helicopter during the last fortnight of electioneering.
"Panchaloha"idols seized

Three "Panchaloha" idols valued at Rs.20 lakhs stolen from the Chennakeswavaswamy temple in Ventadripalem in Prakasam district a week ago were recovered from Uppalapadu village in Guntur district The police chanced upon the idols that were got sculpted by Palnadu Brahmanaidu in 14A.D. when they arrested a murder accused and dacoit Akkayya on Monday at Uppalapadu, the SP told reporters.
