Congress and TRS seats sharing deal finalized (42-6)

The opposition parties in Andhra Pradesh moved a step forward giving a tough fight to the TDP party. The Congress sealed a set sharing deal with the Telangana Rashtra Samithi on Wednesday; the TRS may contest 42 Assembly ad six Lok Sabha seats in the Telangana Region. The Congress is also in the process of wrapping up a similar alliance with the CPI (M) and the CPI.

Farmers seek more compensation

The farmers who thronged the Collector's office demanding enhancement of compensation, a job for each affected family, compensation for trees, buildings etc., to increase the compensation amount for lands acquired for the Special Economic Zone from Rs.2.75 lakh to Rs.4 lakhs per acre. The district collector has agreed to appoint a committee to examine the demands of farmers.

Government to implement new youth empowerment policy

The State Government will implement from the coming financial year, a youth empowerment policy over the next five years with an outlay of Rs.1000 crores as part of an endeavor to address the challenges faced by youth in economic cultural and educational fields.

TTD approves budget of Rs.633 crores

The TTD's revenue from various sources including collections from the Tirumala temple hundi is expected to touch the Rs.633 crore mark for the fiscal 2004-05. The revised budget for the last fiscal was approved by the TTD'S board of trustees at the end of its two day budget meeting on Tuesday and resolved to lay more emphasis on security for the Temple of Lord Venkateswara and to install 100 closed circuit TV cameras at all vital points and two bullet proof posts will be erected a the main entrance with armed personnel.
