Mixed response to general strike
Hyderabad
The nationwide general strike called by the Left supported Central Trade Unions evoked mixed response in the State on Tuesday. The strike was total in the State Government and Central Government Offices, banks, insurance, Postal department and a few public sector units all over the state. Work was paralyzed in all these organisations with the employees staying away. It was partial in telecommunications, APSRTC, Singareni collieries, municipal corporations and councils, Government Hospitals ports and docks. INTUC, BMC, TNTUC have stayed away from strike. However, business establishments remain open.
Congress begins talks with Left parties
Hyderabad
The first round of talks between the Congress and the Left parties ended on a positive note here. The AICC deputed former CLP leader Y.S.Rajasekharareddy and D.Srinivas for consultations. It is learnt that the CPI (M) staked a claim for 18 Assembly seats and two Parliament seats while CPI sought 22 Assembly and three L.S.seats.
Officials walk out from ZP meet- Congress to lodge complaint
Visakhapatnam
Congress members of the Visakhapatnam Zilla Parishad have decided to lodge a complaint with the Chief Secretary against the Collector and other district officials for walking out of its general body meeting on Monday. This was stated by the General Secretary of the Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee and former MP Konathala Ramakrishna at a press conference here. The CPI has also condemned the action of the district officials.
NTR biography will be released on 26th
Hyderabad
A two volume biography of the legendary film actor and former Chief Minister N.T.Rama Rao written by his wife N.Lakshmi Parvati will be formally released on 26th of this month. The first volume titled as 'Eduruleni Manishi' and the second one 'Telugu Tejam'. The volumes would be released by the Lok Janashakti Party leader Ram Vilas Paswan.Noted film maker Dasari Narayana Rao will preside over the function and Congress leader DR.Y.S.RRajasekhara Reddy and leaders of the left parties are invites.
Mysoora Reddy to join TDP

Former Congress leader M.V.Mysoora Reddy will join in Telugu Desam Party on 25th.Even though he had avoided openly discussing his future political plans after quitting the Congress a fortnight ago, he will join in TDP after a meeting with Mr.Naidu on Wednesday.
