ACB arrests Commercial Tax Officer

The ACB officials on Saturday raided the house of the Commercial Tax Officer, Nidadavolu, P.Nageswara Rao at Guntur along with that of the relative and confiscated moveable and immovable properties worth Rs.45 lakhs. The ACB Deputy Superintendent of Police, C.Uday Kumar, the investigating Inspector, Vijay Kumar and other staff raided the houses and arrested Nageswara Rao for possessing assets disproportionate to his known assets.

Fake passport passenger held

A native of Korutla in Karimnagar district I.Laxmi Narasiah was arrested on the charge of attempting to fly to Dubai claiming the passport of another person as his own at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport on Friday. He confessed to officials that he was not holding a valid passport.

Hearing on Andhra University affair on 29th

Mr.Vamana Rao, a retired judge of the High Court who has been appointed enquiry authority to look into the allegations pertaining to the academic and administrative affairs of Andhra University will hold a preliminary hearing on 29th December according to a press release issued on Saturday. Justice Rao said the meeting hall of Visakhapatnam Collectorate would be the venue. All those who had sent complaint/representations to the Government can appear before the judge from 2pm onwards.

Religions heads leave for Kanchi
