The Eastern Naval Command celebrated the 33rd anniversary of Vijay Diwas on Thursday by paying tributes to the valiant personnel of the armed forces who laid down their lives in various operations including the 1971 war against Pakistan. On this day at Dhaka, the Pakistani forces under the command of Lt.Gen.AAK Niazi surrendered in the presence of the three tri service theatre commanders of the Indian Armed forces. Floral wreaths were placed on the day at the 'Amar Jawan Jyothi', the Navy War Memorial on RK Beach in the morning.

The APSRTC is launching a training programme christened 'Prayankiule jeevanadharam' for all drivers, conductors and traffic supervisors on marketing strategies. The RTC Managing Director P.Gautam Kumar said that attitudinal change among employees had increased the revenue. He called upon the managers to inculcate the habit of focusing on customer need, reorient their outlook in publicizing the marketing schemes and attain total customer satisfaction.
