Cases were booked against the leader of the Mahajana Sangharshana Samithi, M.Krishna Madiga and three others were arrested by the police after he and others staged a dharna infornt of Care Hospital on Monday under various sections.
Police deployed in Andhra University Campus

The Joint Action Committee for Protection of Andhra University's attempt to stage a demonstration infornt of the Administration of the Vice-Chancellor, YC.Simhadri on Monday. A large number of police were deployed on the campus much ahead of the scheduled demonstration by the JAC convener, the dismissed professor, S.Surappadu and aggrieved staff members and students.

The Revolutionary Writers Association State Committee member, Chalasni Prasad and CPI (M) district secretary lent their support to the anti Vice-Chancellor campaign.
Round the clock facility by BSNL in Tirupati

The Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited is contemplating its Tirupati customer centre round the clock for the benefit of the customers. The customers can pay telephone bills, purchase of CellOne recharge cards over the counter and have the applications for new connections. The General Manager, A.Subbarao told reporters on Monday.

Two persons were hacked to death in what is stated to be the culmination of land dispute among close relations in Chebrolu on Monday afternoon.
Landmine unearthed in Kurnool

The Police unearthed a landmine between Palakurabanda and Agraharm villages under Gonegandla police station limits of Kurnool district. on Monday. According to reports reaching here, the police dug out two buckets of stuffed 89 gelatin stick, eight kg of gun powder, wire to a length of 40 metres, two batteries and two bottles of cheap liquor.
Insurance scheme for kids

The State Government is thinking of evolving an insurance scheme for children suffering from serious ailments according to the Chief Minister, YS.Rajasekhara Reddy on Monday. He addressed the attendants of the children with heart disease who are undergoing treatment at the NIIMS.
Assurance to RTC Staff about reimbursement
Hyderabad
The Minister for Transport, S.Santosh Reddy on Monday assured the APSRTC employees that the Government would reimburse Rs.330 crores due to the RTC by way of concessions. The APSRTC Employees Union affiliated to AITUC took out a rally from Sundarayya Park to Indiara Park which Mr.Reddy addressed. The Minister said he would look into regularization of services of casual workers.
