Tension prevails over the death of a boy

The death of a 12 year old boy, just movements before a rally was to be taken from Lower Tank Bund to Lake View Guest House seeking help from the Chief Minister for providing treatment to children suffering from various heart ailments sparked off tension on Saturday. Hundreds of children suffering from heart problems along with their parents arrived at Ambedkar Bhavan at Lower Tank Bund following an assurance from the Mahajana Sangramshana Samithi leader Mr.Kishana, the he would seek the help of the Chief Minister and ensure all the children got free treatment.

Just before convening a meeting to chack out the plan of future course of action, one boy died on the spot. Agitated mob proceeded towards Ambedkar Statue raising slogans against the Government.

Condition of few children become deteriorates, immediately ambulances were rushed and admitted them in NIMS. He got an assurance from the Chief Minister, YS.Rajasekhara Reddy over phone and he directed the authorities to pay immediate compensation of Rs.50,000 to the kit and kin of the boy and he would convene a all party meeting on 9th to discuss on the issue.
MoU with Austria
Hyderabad
The Government of Andhra Pradesh signed an MoU with Austria for funding Rs.3,000 crores to start with, to complete the pending irrigation projects on the Godavari. The Agreements caps two years of efforts during which Andhra Pradesh teams visited Austria three times.

The MoU was signed on 2nd August. The team was headed by the Major Irrigation Minister and included Principal Secretaries of the Irrigation and Finance Departments respectively.
Kidnapped persons released

Three persons kidnapped by the CPI(ML) Praja Pratighatana from the Koyagudem opencast mine were set free on Saturday.
MGV Kumara Bhanu is special secretary to CM
Hyderabad
MGV Kumara Bhanu, an IAS officer took over charges as Special Secretary to the Chief Minister on Saturday. He will be in charge of matters relating to Municipal Administration and Urban Development, Transports, R & D, Science and Technology, IT, Marketing in the CMO.
13 Police officers transferred

The State Government has transferred 13 Deputy Superintendents of Police on Saturday.
Interest rates cut in SBI
Hyderabad
The State Bank of India will revise the interest rates on domestic term deposits with effect from August 9th. According to a press release, the TDR with a maturity period seven day to 14 days for Rs.15 Lakhs and above will henceforth be discontinued.
Polytechnic examination
Hyderabad
The polytechnic supplementary examination will commence on September 16th. The last date for payment of the examination fees is August 12th. According to a press release by the Secretary, SBTET, students may contact the Principals for further details.
Family members dies as roof collapse
Mahabubnagar
Five members of a family including two children were buried alive when the roof of their house collapsed at Utkoor in the district on Saturday. According to reports, the roof of the old house weakened by the recent rain collapsed and the tragedy occurred.
