TDP leader shot at close range in Vijayawada
Vijayawada
TDP leader K Nagamalleswararao was shot at and seriously injured by three persons in a broad daylight at his house on the busy MG Road on Thursday morning.

Three assailants walked up to him and pumped in four bullets from point blank range. While two of them whizzed past him, one hit him on the cheek and the other on the neck. After the attack, the assailants smoothly fled on a motorcycle. The police rushed to the scene and began their investigation process.

Farmer committed suicide

Tension prevailed in Yalal Mandal headquarters of Ranga Reddy district on Thursday after the activists of the TDP and BJP staged a dharna for over six hours with the body of the farmers at Laxminarayanapur crossroads on the Yalal-Tandur road alleging that the farmer had committed suicide due to alleged harassment of the AP Transco authorities. The AP Transco officials clarified that the death is only an accidental one and not due to harassment.

The Avionics division of the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited has received the prestigious Golden Peacock Innovation Award 2004 for its innovative development of modern, lightweight and fuel efficient engine to the Cheetah helicopter. The award instituted by the Institute of Director, New Delhi was presented to the Chairman, HAL, NR.Mohanty by the Union Minister of Science and Technology Kapil Sibal in New Delhi recently.
CPI condemns lock up death in Warangal

The Communist Party of India (ML-Janashakthi) has condemned the alleged lock-up death in Warangal district and also demolition of huts of the poor in the district.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the Janashakthi State committee member Sagar said that the incidents in the last three days had proved that once again state of violence against the common man had increased.
