Special teams to monitor power supply

The AP Transco and Discoms will constitute special teams to continuously monitor power supply in the field to ensure adherence to the schedule eight hour power supply to the agricultural sector. The officials will also conduct meetings sub-station and village wise with agricultural consumers to explain the power supply situation inform them about the supply hours and sort out local problems.

According to a press released by the AP Transco said special measures would be taken to prevent low voltage by marinating adequate rolling stock of distribution transformers so that the failed equipment can be replaced within 24 hours.
Cash stolen from United India Insurance Company Branch

Mystery shrouds the reported theft of Rs.1 lakh above from the Dargamitta branch of the United India Insurance Company on Tuesday. The Inspector (Crime investigation) Abraham said apart from cash, cheques relating to premium for Rs. Ninty Thousand and some cheque books were also found missing from the almirah.
Judge orders to repay EPF
Hyderabad
Gopal Reddy, a Judge of the High Court on Tuesday directed the TTD to pay half of the amount demanded by the authorities of the Employment Provident Fund Department and then go for appeal as provided under the rules. The Judge was passing the order in a writ petition filed by the TTD. The EPF authorities directed the TTD to pay Rs.17 lakhs towards contributions for volunteers working in the Nitya Annadanam scheme.

The Oil and Natural Gas Corporation has been given assurance complete cooperation and support for the security of its offshore assets by the Deputy Inspector General of Police of Eluru Range, K.Narasimha Reddy. In a meeting, he gave the assurance to the ONGC.

All the arrangements are in full swing for on coming Krishna Pushakarams. In Beechupalli, authorities expect atleast one lakh pilgrims to congregate daily for the 12 day event. The bathing ghats on river banks are submerged in water and urchin are having a gala time, splashing water at each other.

This place is next only to Vijayawada in terms of pilgrims rush the statue of Krishnaveni and a mandap are also being constructed on the banks. A huge structure meant to shelter pilgrims from rain, is nearing completion.

Examinations in SC Railway postponed

The preliminary written examination scheduled to be held on August 29th to fill backlog vacancies of SC/ST in Group D in the South Central Railway under special recruitment drive have been postponed due to administrative reasons according to a press released issued.
