Chief Minister denies charges on booking cases against farmers
Hyderabad
The Chief Minister, YS.Rajasekhara Reddy will re-examine the issue of unauthorized agricultural power connections. He said, he is going to have an all party meeting on the subject on Wednesday. However, he said that stoppage of unauthorized connections, tapping, in fact, would ensure protection to 'free supply' implementation.
Free power to be regularized - says Finance Minister
Visakhapatnam
The Finance Minister, K.Rosaiah told media on Monday that the Government is committed to supplying free power to farmers within a regulatory system. He said, free supply did not mean that energy could be drawn freely from overhead transmission lines. He reiterated that Government's resolve to issue permission for fifty thousand new pump sets annually.

In this connection, Telugu Desam Party and BJP threaten agitation if the State Government did not reconsider to week out power connections to unauthorized agricultural pump sets.

In a sharp reaction, the BJP announced that it would drive away officers and staff from villages if they implemented the Government decision.

The Minor Irrigation Minister, A.Chandrashekar has reiterated that the elected representatives of the Telengana Rashtra Samithi including MPs and MLAs will resign if separate Telengana does not materialize through democratic lines. The Collector B.Udaya Lakshmi touched by the plight of Annapurnamma, daughter in law of Prakasam Pantulu, she sanctioned here a house under the Indira Awas Yogjana for the family members.

She made this statement while participating in the 132nd birth anniversary celebrations of Prakasam Pantulu held at the Collectorate on Monday. In this context, flood of donations came from various leaders came forward for meeting the cost of electricity and necessary needs of the house.
