APGenco to come up with special schemes
Hyderabad
The APGenco will give top priority to providing quality and reliable power to rural consumers on part with those in urban areas. Special schemes have been prepared to expedite this process by investing Rs.1234 crores funded by the Rural Electrification Corporation this financial year. Principal Secretary, Energy and Chairman of APGenco stated this on Sunday.
Police deny charges on DSP
Anantapur
The DIG of Anantapur range, N.Jayarami Reddy and the SP Anil Kumar on Sunday denied the charges leveled against the DSP of Anathapur B.Balanarasimha Reddy by the TDP leaders in the contest that two TDP leaders hacked to death in the recent past.
Former Mandal Extension Officer dismissed
Hyderabad
Former Mandal Extension Officer in Srikakulam District R.Tulasidas was dismissed from service following his conviction by the designated court in corruption case. He was arrested by the AC officials on February 13th, 1994 and the Special Judge for the ACB, Visakhapatnam on February 6th of this year sentenced the MEO to undergo one year simple Imprisonment and a fine of Rs.1000.
Praja Assembly held in Visakhapatnam
Visakhapatnam Disinvestment and its fallout should form part of the agenda being chalked out by the People's War naxalitees for talks with the State Government. This was the gist of the resolution adopted at a 'Praja Assembly' conducted by several mass organisations here on Saturday. The meeting at Ambedkar Bhavan was the third in the series of five 'Praja Assemblies' convened by the All India People's Resistance Federation and AIFTU. Various leaders spoke on this occasion.
Naxals hoist black flags
Nizamabad
Naxlasof the PW hoisted black flags and pasted wall posters at several villages of Machareddy, Lingampet and Velpur mandals urging people to boycott the Independence Day Celebrations. The police removed the black flags and posters. However, the SP.Madhusudahan Reddy denied removal of the posters.
