Srisailam Hydel project begins power generation
Hyderabad
The power generation stations at Srisailam were closed on 5th February and the hydel stations of the Srisailam project commenced generation of power making use of improved storage of this reservoir.

According to Bh.Satyanaryana Murty, Director, AP Genco the units would be run for 15 days especially during peaks hours and as and when the grid required. It would be a twin objective task power generation supplementing Nagarjunasagar. Srisailam was discharging about 30,000 causes down the line to the nearly empty Nagarjunasagar. Thanks to the rains due to through which power generation is on increase.
Farmers commit suicide
Karimnagar
Five farmers committed suicide due to failure of crops and increasing debts in various parts of Karimnagar district on Thursday.
Entrance test for Group I
AU, Visakhapatnam
An entrance test will be conducted by the AP Study Circle at the Department of Economics in Andhra University on Saturday for screening candidates for its coaching programme for the Group I Preliminary examination. Candidates who have applied for the test can collect the hall tickets from the study circle premises near the Government Circuit House by Friday evening.
