Ragging kills an Engineering Girl in Guntur

Ragging in colleges especially in engineering and medical colleges is on increase despite warnings by police. An engineering student studying B.Tech at Vadrevu Engineering College near Amalapuram ended her life on account of ragging on Monday. In a suicide note from her belongings revealed the reason for resorting this extreme step. In the note she was allegedly reportedly subjected to ragging one 'SYSR'. The police team went to Amalapuram to investigate the case.

Rs. 70 lakhs looted from Canara Bank

Thieves managed to gain entry by drilling a hole on the roof of the building into the premises of Canara Bank branch of Sainikpuri and decamped with Rs.70 lakhs in cash. However, they could not break open the lockers and the valuables kept in them .The police suspect that the intruders used powerful tolls to drill to make a hold to gain entry into strong room. The police suspect that it is a well planned operation according to Cyberabad Police Commissioner M.Mahender Reddy.

YSR considers for Assembly Constituency Development Fund

The Chief Minister, YS.Rajasekhara Reddy after considering a demand from the MLAs to allocate Assembly Constituency Development Fund, he announced from next year onwards Rs.1 crore will be allotted to each assembly for the development at a meeting of the CLP. The AICC general secretary, Dig Vijay Singh was the chief guest in the meeting. He advised party MLAs not to intervene in the functioning of the administration or in the local bodies. He gave some tips to the MLAs and partymen on anti- incumbency factor. He supported the decision of the Government in giving t percent reservation to Muslims.

Demand to withdraw suspension of Union Leaders

The United Port and Dock Employees Union affiliated to CITU has demanded that the Visakhapatnam Port Trust management to withdraw the suspension of and charge sheets served on its leaders and those of other trade unions after a recent strike. The Honorary president of the CITU union, MVS.Sarma told in a press conference on Tuesday that the union’s general secretary was served a charge sheet alleging that he extended support to the strike by DLB workers for criticizing the management.

60 BC families boycotted in Anantapur
