TRS expels 13 rebel candidates

The Telengana Rashtra Samiti president K.Chandrasekarara Rao has announced the expulsion of 13 rebel TRS candidates who re in the poll fray in various segments of the region. They include the two who have filed their nominations along with the 'B'forms. After a daylong discussions with the party's senior leaders and holding parleys with Congress leaders on Thursday.
CPI withdraws support to TRS

Irked by the decision of the TRS to field candidates against the left parties, the CPI has announced that it is withdrawing its support to the former in all the 42 Assembly and six Lok Sabha seats it is contesting. The CPI State secretary S.Sudhakara Reddy announced the decision while participating in a "meet the press" programme organized by the AP Union of Working Journalists.
Revenue Secretary transferred

The State Government has transferred the Revenue Secretary D.C.Rosaiah since his wife is contesting the elections. This has been done at the instance of the Election commission.Mr.Rosaiah's wife; Revathi is contesting the Pedakurapadu Assembly seat in Guntur district as TDP candidate.
Central Excise official held by CBI

The CBI officials caught a Superintendent of Central Excise, Guntur division on Thursday for accepting illegal gratification of Rs.3, 000/- from one Ravi Kumar of Ram Cellular Care Centre for not conducting raids on his shop.
Congress and TRS efforts to contain rebel threat

The Congress and TRS leaders launched an elaborate exercise to contain the threat from rebels who had entered the fray in at least four Assembly segments. The Congress and TRS candidates entered the fray in Yellareddy and Kamareddy Assembly segments of Medak Parliamentary constituency despite the seat being given to a particular party as part of the seat sharing exercise.

The Congress suffered a serious set back when the nomination of it official candidate, Shajahan for the Madanapalle Assembly constituency was today rejected by the Returning Officer in the scrutiny as the A Form did not bear the signature of the authorized office bearer of the party.
