TDP expels 11 rebel candidates
The TDP president N.Chandrababunaidu ordered the explusion of 11 party leaders including K.Revathi Pathi a member of the dissolved Assembly for contesting against the official candidates of the ruling party. A party release said though these leaders were given ample opportunity to withdraw their candidature, they continued in the fray as independents against the nominees of the TDP or the BJP.
TDP unimpressed on Telengana issue

The Telugu Desam Party today made it clear that it would not be convinced by possible requests from its ally, the BJP to support statehood for Telengana.According to TDP spokesman C.Ramachandraiah, it was the party's firm conviction that all round development was possible only under the umbrella of bigger states. Meanwhile, the State BJP president N.Indrasena Reddy on Said that he would talk to TDP president on the issue of a separate Telengana and convince Mr.Naidu.

People War arms dump recovered

The district police on Sunday recovered an arms dump belonging to the PWG at Peetarayi village of G.K.Veedhi Mandal. Over 800 rounds of ammunition, four communication sets, 200 SAR weapon chargers and wires were recovered.
Two Naxalities killed in encounter

Two PWG action team members were killed in an exchange of fire at Kondaparthi in Hanumakonda Mandal on Sunday. The police recovered two shot weapons and 10 gelatin sticks from the spot.
Shiv Shankar holds talks with Dattatreya

The former Union Minister P.Shiv Shankar who recently resigned from the Congress had a 3-minute long closed door meeting with the senior BJP leader and Union Minister for Urban Development Bandru Dattatreya on Sunday. The details of the discussions were not known.
Dasari Narayana Rao lashes out at TDP rule

The APCC campaign committee chairman, Dasari Narayana Rao launched his campaign here on Sunday by hitting out at the TDP nine year rule. The former CLP leader Dr.Y.S.Rajasekharareddy has already launched party's campaign by taking out a 'Jaitra Yatra' from Chevella and almost completed touring the constituencies that come under the first phase area.

Addressing an impressive public meeting in this Mandal headquarters on Sunday; the Chief Minister continued his tirade against the AICC chief alleging that any move to make her the Prime Minister would be an insult for the people who fought for the Independence of the country.

Bitter rivals like the CPI (M) which spearheaded the violent land struggle by Adivasis in the agency and the non tribal landlords turned to be strange bedfellows in the run up to the elections on the eve of Dr.Y.S.Rajasekharareddy election eve 'Jaitra Yatra'. Touching upon the sensitive tribal/non-tribal conflict, Mr.Reddy sought to keep both the warring groups happy by blaming it on the TDP regime and charging the TDP with laxity in resolving the land disputes in the agency, the Congress leader promised to find an 'amicable' solution to the problem.
Bomb attack on APCLC leaders' houses

Houses of office bearers of the Andhra Pradesh Civil Liberties Committee came under bomb attack at two places in Guntur in the early hours on Sunday. There were no casualties or major damage to the property. No one claimed responsibility for the same.
