State Government decides to go ahead with investigation on naxal attack
Hyderabad, October 2, 2003

The State Government decided to make an investigation by a National level agency. Home Minister Mr. Devendar Goud said that a decision as to which agency will be asked to investigate will be announced in a day or two. He clarified that the act is that of People's War Group. He said that a decision about protection to top leaders and review on security policy will be taken shortly.

Also on proposals is the introduction of Black Cats security for CM. CM already has Z+ Category Security.

The Government said that a single member commission by Dr S Subrahmanyam is looking conducting an enquiry into the issue. Dr. Subrahmanyam has already left for Tirupati. He said that the planning of the attack by Naxals was good and the timing was good as most police personnel were busy with Brahmostavams as lakhs of devotees are expected to visit the area. He is expected to give a report shortly.

On the other hand, DGP Mr. kumawat is also looking the incident. He is expected to submit a report in 10 days time.

A team from NSD from the centre is also investigating into the incident.
