9 arrested for misappropriating Inter marks lists
Hyderabad, October 31, 2003

The Hyderabad Police arrested 9 persons today who were connected with marks manipulation in the advanced supplementary examinations. The Police said 6 more are absconding and still to be nabbed.

Police Commissioner RP Singh said that two temporary employees who joined in the Board of Intermediate studies are the prime in the scam. G Satyanarayana, a programmer at the Board who arrested said that he was forced by his higher authorities for this manipulation of marks. Over 60 marks lists were believed to have be changed with more updated marks than what the students really got.

The Police said that over Rs. 3 Lakhs has changed hands for making the manipulations of makrs.

Meanwhile, supporters of SFI demanded for a detailed enquiry on the issue. They met the Secretary of board and submitted a memorandum.

AISF and NSUI supporters demanded the resignation of Ministers Talasani Srinivasa Yadav and NMD Farooq in Karimnagar. They also demanded suspension of board authorities responsible in the scam.

Rashta Rokho was staged at the main center at Warangal by SFI activists.
