Dy Prime Minister LK Advani meets Mr. Naidu
Hyderabad, October 3, 2003

Deputy Prime Minister LK Advani arrived at Hyderabad in the morning. He directly went to meet Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Mr. N Chandrababu Naidu at his residence in Jubliee Hills.

He interacted with the CM and inquired about the health condition. Mr. Naidu explained the series of events about the Naxals attack on his convoy. Home Minister Mr Devendar Gowd, Telugu Desam Parliamentary Party Leader Mr Yerran Naidu were also present at the CM's residence.

Speaking with the press when coming out, Mr. Advani said that a two fold approach has to be taken up to fight against terrorism. He said 'that the people population living there [naxal hit areas should get] .. a feeling about the government is keen on developing their social and economic conditions' and that Naxlas and 'those indulging into terrorist activities should be dealt strictly'. He said that the Centre will extend all the necessary co-operation to the states in this regard.

He later went to airport and left for New Delhi in his special flight. He interacted with Home Minister and a team of Police and Intelligence personnel for some time at the Airport.
