Special Poojas are offered to Ammavaru at the Indrakheladri in Vijayawada on the auspicious day that falls on Moola star which is the birthday of Ammavari. Devotees in large numbers began to form queues for darshan of the goddess as early at 2 AM in the morning. Ammavau appeared as Saraswathi today.
Piligrim numbers to Tirumala drops
Tirumala saw a significant drop in the number of pilgrims today. Pilgrims who visit the holy shrine seem to have fell into fear following an attack on Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh yesterday. The holy shrine has recently become a target by anti-social activities - particularly due to threat from ISI.
Three girls dies drowning in lake in Nalgonda
Three girls died few minutes after falling into a lake in Nalgonda. A girl Srilatha fell accidentally in the lake. Three of her friends also jumped into the lake to help her however they got drowned. A farmer going in that route tried his best and brought Srilatha out but could not bring the others out.
