Chief Minister Mr. N Chandrababu Naidu has survived from a bomb attack by naxals this evening at Alipiri near Tirupati. He had a miraculous escape with minor injuries while three more members who were sitting in the convey were injured and rushed to hospital. His health condition now fine thought the condition of other members is critical.
Dy PWG Commander killed
In a seperate operation, Deputy Commander of PWG - Puli Mallesh was killed in an encounter in the early hours between the Naxals and the PWG at Buthpur in Mahaboobnagar. Two other naxals escaped from the spot.
Congress postpones its Bus Yaatra
The State Congress Party announced that it is postponing its Bus Yaatra in the wake of recent developments in the party. The party arrived at this decision after a meeting at the Gandhi Bhawan at Hyderabad. The Yaatra was proposed to be conducted from October 9 to 22 in which top leaders from the Party are expected to tour various parts of the state and meet the people. The new date for the program is not yet released.

Andhra Bank restructures interest rates
Andhra Bank announced that it is restructuring its interest rates on Term Deposits. Interest rates are increased by 0.25 to 0.50% while interest on 3 year term deposits over Rs.1 Crore were reduced by 0.25%. Interest on NRI Term Deposits was reduced.
