President inaugurates 50 year celebrations of SVU
President APJ Abdul Kalam called upon the youth to 'spend some time for social activities'. He inaugurated the Celebrations of 50 years of Sri Venkateswara University in Tirupati. Earlier on his arrival, Governor Sri Surjit Singh Barnala and Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Mr. N Chandrababu Naidu welcomed him at the Airport.

The President said that the University will play a vital role in the development of Rayalaseema region. He reminded that very few countries in the world are developed countries but amny are developing countries and that India is one of the developing ones.

Chief Minister Mr. Naidu who was also a former student spoke and expressed his personal feelings. 'India will become a developed nation by 2020', Mr. Naidu said. He said that the University has to move in modern wave.
Guntur Praja Sadhassu shows people's response for TDP - says Naidu
TDP Party President Mr. N Chandrababu Naidu expressed confidence at the response from the people to the party's Guntur Praja Sadhassu. He spoke with the press this morning and expressed happiness at people in large number coming to the venue. He said that even old women came to see him with her children. He said 'they(people) will change leaders'.
Singuru Simhagarjanam shows people's response for Telangana - says TRS
Telangana Rastra Samithi President Mr. K Chandrasekhara Rao said that the real response of the people was visible at the Singuru Simhagarjanam held at Sangareddy in Medak. He termed the response as a 'tremendious wave' and expressed confidence that the party will emerge the leader in the Telangana region.
13th International Children's Film Festival ends
The 13th International Children's Film Festival came to an end. Cultural programs were presented at the conclusion day celebrations held at Laitha Kala Thoranam in Hyderabad. Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Mr. N Chandrababu presented awards to outstanding films selected by the jury. "An Angle for May" won the Golden Elephant Award
CPI asks for ration cards for eligible ones only
The CPI staged dharna at various District Collectorates asking for streamlining and giving ration cards only to eligible ones. They demanded for implementation of 610 GO. Many supporters ware arrested in Hyderabad for picketing.
