AP shakes hand with Maharastra for Lende Project
Andhra Pradesh and Maharastra Governments signed an agreement today on Lende Project at Hyderabad. The project to be built across River Godavari is expected to be completed by June 2006 and costs Rs 276 Crores of which Andhra Pradesh need to put in Rs. 118 Crores. As a first payment, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Mr. N Chandrababu gave a cheque for Rs. 13 Crores to his Maharastra counterpart Mr. Sushil Kumar Schende.

Mr. Naidu asked his Maharastra counter part to come forward to complete the remaining project with neighboring states. He asked the Government of India to consider the project as a river interlinking project.

Chief Minister Mr. N Chandrababu Naidu said that the scam was found in many areas. He said that CBI enquiry has to be called for. The two Governments also announced they will share information in regard to Stamp Papers Scam so that the investigation of the multi-crores scam be fastened. A high level committee from Maharastra also came to Hyderabad.
32 Lakh ration cards issued so far - says Minister
Chief Minister has conducted a review meet at the Secretariat today on the progress of issue of ration cards. Minister C Mutyam Reddy said that if any mistakes were identified in the issue of ration cards, the respective officers check them. He said that over 32 Lakh ration cards were issued so far.
CM holds meeting on Nagarjunasagar Project
Chief Minister called for a meeting concerning the Nagarjunasagar Project. He received a report sent by Guntur District Collector. Minister Kadiyam Srihari, Secretary CVSK Sharma and other officials attended the meeting. The meeting decided that Nagarjunasagar canal can release water as per the proposals from various Collectors. It is expected that the water levels at the project will increase as more water joins.
High Court postpones its decision on State Assembly Dissolution case
The State High Court postponed its decision on a case filed against the dissolving of the State Assembly. R Krishnayya filed a Public Litigation case against the dissolving of the State Assembly. Senior High Court Lawyer said that N Ramachandra Rao said that he will go to Supreme Court if the case was not on favor.
Samarasimha Reddy rejoins in Congress
Former Senior Congress Member Samarasimha Reddy announced joining the Congress Party again today. He met with senior Congress leaders at Gandhi Bhawan and announced his joining. Earlier last year, he joined in the Telangana Rastra Samithi.
BJP keen for more seats from Telugu Desam this time
Bharateeya Janatha Party is expecting this time to ask for more seats as a part of sharing seats with Telugu Desam Party. This was hinted by Union Minister and Senior BJP Leader Vidyasagara Rao. He said that officer bearers meeting will be held tomorrow.
CPM and CPI to stay united for next elections
The Communist Party of India State Unit has held a meeting with its friend CPM Party in Hyderabad to discuss about their roles in the upcoming assembly elections. State Secretary Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy said that the two left parties will continue ahead with their understandings. CPM State Committee meeting will be held tomorrow.
