Chandrababu Naidu relected TDP Party President for the fifth time Tirupati, May 28, 2003
TDP Party President Mr. N Chandrababu Naidu was elected as the party president of the 5th time at the Mahanadu program in Tirupati. The election program was unanimous as like in the previous year. As many as 19 sets of notifications were filed on behalf of Chandrababu Naidu since the notification for choosing the party President was announced yesterday.
Special Package for Agriculture sector announced Speaking on the plan for developing agriculture in the state, he announced a package worth Rs. 700 Crores for the sector.
State Government said that it will be considering waiver of interest on agriculture loans apart from providing Rs 100 crores as agriculture insurance. Insurance will also be provided for market yards. Farmer societies in similar lines to DWACRA will be set up. A package to this effect will be released officially after Cabinet approval. He said that the effects of the program will be put before farmers at the earliest. CM asked the farmers to switch to modern agriculture techniques to get the best yield. Subsidy will be given to all seeds procured through select agencies identified by the Government.
