TDP-Govt. ignored Handloom sector - says YSR

CLP Leader Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy said that the TDP-led Government was to be held responsible for not giving enough opportunities for the handloom sector in the state. He said that APCOB was not able to make even Rs. 19 Crores business during a financial year. He reminded that this figure is a small one compared to the business reported by the same company during the Congress rule. YSR said that Budgetary allocations was very less and this was the prime reason for the downfall of the sector. Dr YSR's Praja Prasthanam paada yaatra will reach 1000 kms milestone by tomorrow. The schedule was slighting modified and the yaatra was beginning early in the morning.

MSR completes 3 years as PCC President

APCC President Sri M Satyanarayana Rao completed his 3 years tenure as PCC President. A program was organized which felicitated the leader. Speaking at the program, MSR said that the days of Chandrababu Naidu-led Government is coming to an end and asked Congress leaders no to fight for future CM post but instead asked to stay united and get the confidence of the people. G. Venkataswamy, T. Subbirami Reddy, Kesava Rao, G. Venkat Reddy, J.C. Diwakar Reddy, J. Ratnakar Rao, P. Goverdhan Reddy, Shabbir Ali, Geeta Reddy, N. Bhaskar Rao and P. Sudhakar Reddy were present at the meeting. The Media Cell of the Pradesh Congress Committee released a Souvenir on achievements of the PCC during the three year tenure of MSR.

All set for TDP's Mahanadu program

All arrangements for the Mahanadu program to be held in Tirupati were completed. TDP supporters from various parts of the state were arriving in the holy town. A separate guest house was built behind the venue of the Mahanadu where TDP President and CM Mr. N Chandrababu Naidu will be residing. Two big dining halls to accommodate all party workers for Lunch and Dinner were constructed. Agriculture, irrigation, employment generation and power sectors are belived to be the main topic amongst other that come for discussion during the 3-day program.

Long queues at Tirumala

With summer holidays given to all schools on one side and TDP Mahanadu program venued in Tirupati, the number of devotees to Sri Venkateswara Temple in Tirumala has increased to an extent that devotees have to wait for atleast 48 hours to get the darshan of the lord.

Pakala-Bellary Passenger Train derails - Three dead

The Pakala-Bellary Passenger Train (No. 287) derailed near the Venkatampalli railway station in Anantapur district killing three people and injuring over 20. The South Central Railway on Sunday ordered an inquiry into the derailment. An error by keyman who had to disjoint the loop line from the main track after the train has passed was believed to be the primary reason for the accident. The Railway Police registered a case on the Station Master Mr. Chandrasekhar and keyman Mr. Mahabub Pasha.

APRJC Admissions from June 7

Admission process for the Andhra Pradesh Residential Junior Colleges (APRJC) will begin on June 7. The admissions will be conducted for the six APRJC's at Vizianagaram, Nellore, Chittoor, Warangal, Nalgonda and Kurnool will be held. The admission for APRJC (Girls) at Banavasi in Kurnool will be held on June 7.

The Telangana Forum said that they will rally in Mahaboobnagar, Nalgonda, Warangal and Khammam next month.
Members of the Truth Finding Committee that went to Rayachoti to find facts related to the recent encounter in Cuddapah where Peoples War member Prasad alias Devanna was killed had a bad taste when they were lathi carged by the police. Several activists from Revolutionary Writers Association (Virasam) and Andhra Pradesh Civil Liberties Committee were lathicharged.
Union Minister of State for Railways, Bandaru Dattatreya expressed grief at the accident and assured ex gratia of Rs. 1 lakh each to the families of the deceased.
TDP Leader Mr. NV Prasad was sworn as the Chairman on Tirupati Urban Development Authority(TUDA). Anna Ramachandraiah - also a TDP leader was sworn as Tirupati Marketing Committee.
General Commanding-in-Chief of the Southern Command Lieutenant General Gurbaksh Singh Sihota visited Hyderabad on a 4-day visit to the city.
