The 31-day Budget Sessions of the State Legislation came to an end today. Minister Yenamala Ramakrishnudu said that opposition parties have raising unnecessary issues and did not use the Assembly time in a proper manner and that they 'does not know any management of time for useful discussions'. CLP Member Raguveera Reddy said that none of the main points raised by the Congress were being answered in a proper manner by the Government. CPM highlighted that the Government is not ready to listen to the oppositions words while BJP felt dissatisfied as many Ministers have not come on time or were unable to give proper answers.
Government, during the Question and Answer hour said that it has no plans for the shifting of NTR Health University from Vijayawada to Hyderabad. The Minister rejected that the Vice Chancellor and other officers are spending more time in Hyderabad. It also stated that that a new Super-specialty Hospital will be set up at Siddardha College.
Congress and CPM questioned about the use of organizing Partnership Summits for which Heavy Industries Minister tried to convince with the figures and statistics that showed that the Government was able to attract good investments from this.
Bundh by Trade organizations in the state was visible in almost all areas. The bundh was called as a protest against the introduction of Valued Added Taxes(VAT). Mr. Soma Dayanand, AP Chambers Association said that people took part voluntarily in the bundh to make it a success. Rallies marred in Nellore and in Nizamabad. A plea was submitted to Nizamabad Collector.
Jana Vignana Vedika, today in Hyderabad has released a report in regard to health services in the state. The report suggested implementation of a Mobile ambulance to cater to the emergency needs of the people in the state.
Proceedings in the Municipal Corporation of Tirupati went to a havoc with opposition members rejecting the possible increased bill for water transport from Tandarevu and Tirupati. They said that Commissioner has made some misappropriations for which Commissioner said that he is ready for an enquiry on the issue.
Andhra Pradesh Lorry Services Association in Vijayawada said that they will go on strike if the Government does not withdraw its hiked diesel prices.
Two naxals of the People's War Group were arrested by the Vizianagaram police. One of the two - Mr. Satyam - carries a reward of Rs. 20,000. He is believed to be instrumental in attacking a police station and killing 3 constables.
Over 200 houses were believed to be burnt in a fire accident in Gajuwaka in Visakhapatnam. 3 Fire fighters were deployed to keep the fire under control.
Sahiti Mitra Mandali felicitated Sri K Rama Rao, BS Sastry - R Lakshminarayana charyulu and others as a part of Ugaadi programs.
