Discussions on the suspension of Congress MLAs who tried to enter into Chief Minister chamber recently in regard to farmer problems rocked the Assembly today with both Congress and TDP MLA's having clashes with their words. The Congress MLAs asked for a Question and Answer hour for which Speaker Mrs. Prathiba Barathi rejected. Some TDP members said that Congress members have tried to do forcefully enter into the chamber of CM and that windows and flowerpots in the premises were damaged. The Congress members then sat near the podium for few minutes. Speaker of the Assembly has sent the issue to the Ethics committee.
Chief Minister Mr. N Chandrababu Naidu, today, in Assembly, said that CLP Leader Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reedy has two faces and switches from one form to another depending on the requirement. Dr YSR, replying to this that said CM was a much bigger 'actor' and that it was told by none other than NT Rama Rao.
Congress Party finally staged a walked out from the Assembly. This was followed by members from CPI, CPM and MIM stating that the Government has no interest in solving farmer problems.
Telangana Rastra Samithi President Mr. R Chandrasekhara Rao and his supporters began on a nation-wide rally to create awareness and importance of statehood on Telangana at the Central level. A Rally to this effect began today which was flagged off by Mr. A Narendra. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Chandrasekhara Rao said that he will meet the President and Prime Minister on 27th April and will hold a public meeting in Delhi.
The Principal, an Invigilator and another person of The Merit College in Khammam involved in the leakage of Maths - 1 paper of Intermediate Examinations conducted by the Board of Intermediate Education was arrested today. More details on this awaited.
A 70MW Gas turbine built by Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited for the Petroleum Development Unit at Oman left the Ramachandrapuram unit today. This is one of the prestigious export deal from the unit.
Khazipet and Warangal police jointly arrested a group of a dacoit team. Rs. 1 lakh worth Gold and Silver Ornaments and Electrical goods were recovered from them.
All India Democratic Womens Association (AIDWA) staged a demonstration in Hyderabad demanding America to stop its war against Iraq. They burnt an effigy of American President George Bush.
Congress and CPI supporters blocked the 5 major roads in Karimnagar as a protest against the Government for not showing interest in water projects despite drought situations in the district. They demanded for a special package to the district to beat drought.
Transport sleuths in Tirupati recovered a van carrying Red Sandal Wood illegally to market in Chennai. The driver and another person traveling along with him in the van were absconding.
Praja Natyamanadali began a series of road shows in Warangal to inform the Government about the drought hit people in the state. Slogans and songs were raised against the Government for not showing interest in their district.
