TTD conducts Shanti Yagnam

Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam(TTD) conducted Shanti Yagnam to please gods so that no accident take place at the Ghat road. It may be recalled that a recent accident when an RTC bus fell into Ghat Road killed many. TTD EO Ajay Kalam, Chief Security Officer Damodar and others took part in the Pooja program.

Women will teach TDP a lesson - says Congress Women cell

The AP Mahila congress Committee's State Executive Committee met today in Hyderabad under the Presidentship of Mrs.Gita Reddy. Speaking at the program, she said that women who had a bad taste with the Government policies which helped them in now way. She that Women will teach a lesson to TDP. Only 3% interest was giving for savings made by women while loan interests were taken at 15%. Attractive policies such as distribution of cycles etc., will never succeed as they could not be really implemented - she said. CLP Leader Dr. YS Rajasekhara reddy and PCC President Mr. M Satyanarayana Rao also attended the meeting. Mr MSR said that he strengthen the women's cell of the party.

646 centers were identified for EdCET 2003

Convener of EdCET 2003 Prof VVB Sharma said that over 646 centers were identified for the smooth conduction of B.Ed Entrance Examination all over the state. He said that 36 test centers instituted and that 6 regions will be having Regional coordinators and 61 city coordinators. He said that Hall Tickets were already dispatched and information about the same will be put on the websites: www.aponline.gov.in and at the Osmania University website. He said that arrangements were also made to release the key for the examinations within 5 days from the date of commencement of exams.

TDPP to raise Karnataka water dispute in Parliament sessions

TDPP Leader Mr. Yerran Naidu said in Vijayawada today that Karnataka is behaving as an independent nation without following norms laid by the law in regard to Water projects. He said that they have no moral even when they know that Andhra Pradesh will turn to desert if sufficient water cannot be given to the state for irrigation or drinking purpose. He said that they had not learnt a lesson even after the judgement from the Supreme court in regard to the Almatti project. He said that the TDP Party will raise the issue in the Parliament. He said that TDP is ready for negotiations as well to follow legal means if required.

Government not keen on implementation of 610 GO intern report

The Government today cleared that it may not be implementing the intern report of the 610 GO since there could be some legal problems cropping out. The Intern Report by the committee has identified that Departmental transfers in three departments have to be made immediately. TRS President Mr. Chandrasekhara Rao questioned as to why the Government which said that it will accept the final report was not coming forward for implementation of interim report. A Indrakirsan Reddy of Congress said that the Government has been trying to cover up with stating points.

SSC Telugu Supplementary re-conducted

SSC Supplementary Telugu Examination was held in 3 centers in Tiruapti as the earlier answer papers became wet in their transits by Train. The Railway authorities came out of the scene referring to a Supreme court judgment and left the students to have to rewrite the examination. This is the first time in the state that a re-examination was conducted at SSC level due to damaged answer sheets.

Tension in Warangal as farmers attacks seed dealer shop

Tension prevailed in Warangal district as hundreds of farmers attacked dealer shops that earlier sold fake chili seeds under the banner of Saral Seeds. Police have chosen to Lathi charge at the farmers as they began to threw stones and destroy furniture at the dealer shop. District collector and SP tried their best in calming down the farmers but failed. Farmers said that Sabari Agro Agency who was the dealer for the seeds has promised to them that he will refund money today but was lying.

Workshop on Tourism held at Vizianagaram

A Workshop on Tourism was held in Vizianagaram. Mrs. Chandana - Secretary to Tourism Department, District Collector, Mrs. Jhansi Laxmi, Srinivasuku of VUDA and others took part and gave suggestion on tourism development in the region. The Review meeting decided to maintain Vizianagaram Fort in an effective manner so as to attract tourists.

Warangal Municipal Corporation meeting held today ended us with comments between various parties. Earlier Mayor announced that the Corporation has decided to privatise the maintenance works of the Musical Garden. Congress MLA said that he was against this.
A rare surgery was held at the Osmania University when the thyroid that usually will be located at throat was found in her mouth. The operation on a 6 year old girl was successfully held.
A merchant Mr. Sunil Gowd was murdered at Rayaduragam in Ranga Reddy when he was at a meeting. The murderer was believed to be from Kurnool. Police were investigating the case.
Finance Minister Mr. Yenamala Ramakrishnudu has taken part in a program instituted by backward casts in Guntur. Speaking at the program he announced that the 94 sects that were not considered in the recently prepared list and that funds for the development of the sects will be given.
Jana Vignanan Vedika took out a rally in Nizamabad to mark its formation day. Students and support who participated in the rally said that there are no stationary educational reforms.
