10 Lakh more white cards to be issued in 2 years span

The Government of Andhra Pradesh said that it will be giving 10 lakh more white card connections as a part of the Deepam program over a period of 2 years. Civil Supplies Minister Mr. C Muthyam Reddy announced this speaking with Joint Collector's at a video conference on distribution of ration cards.

Naxals attack Police station

Naxals belonging to the Krishnappati Dalam - over 40 in number (which included 8 women naxals) - attacked the Nandigama station of Krishna district. The Police station is incidentally next to a court house. Police at the station were demanded to handover weaponry but could not get any as there are no arms at the station.

BSNL CellOne announces Twin pack offer

Prithipal Singh - Managing Director and Chairman of BSNL announced a new offer of BSNL's Cell One. BSNL has now a scheme which allows a subscribe to take a handset and pay its cost in 25 installments which falls at Rs. 200 a month. The 'Twin Offer' allows subscriber to pick up a new connection and take a free talk time of Rs. 200. Mr. Singh also presented the Bharat Sanchar Shree Award to Ratna Kumari - Sr. TOA of West Godavari.

The Acharya N G Ranga Agricultural University of Hyderabad suggested to the state farmers to go with jowar crop as rains are expected.
A Naxal belonging to Chandravanka dalam of People's War Group was killed in an encounter at Petasannigandla village in Guntur. The Karempudi police who began on combing operation tried to arrest a naxal party met on their way but have to open fire when the group threw soap bombs.
MV Tiger Spring - a chartered vessel of the American President Lines became the first container vessel to enter into the Visakha Container Terminal (VCT) of Visakhapatnam Port Trust.
Sri Tidandi Ranga Ramanuja Jeeyar Swami was felicitated with a golden bracelet by the local Shiridi Sai Baba Spiritual Center in Visakhapatnam.
