ICET 2003 Results announced

Sri Venkateswara University which was the host for the ICET 2003 examination for admission to various MBA and MCA courses by Universities in Andhra Pradesh released the results of the examination today. Of the 62,728 candidates who registered, 59,686 appeared and 56,699 qualified. The qualifying rate is 95%. 96.24 of girls and 94.47 of boys got qualified in the examination.

Govt. takes loan for Godavari Pushkarams

The State Government's Endowments Department took a loan of Rs. 72 Crores from the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam for the Godavari Pushkaram works in Rajahmundry and other coastal districts of River Godavari. Finance Minister Mr. Yanamala Ramakrishnudu said that the Government will be paying Simple Interest for the same. The Minister said that the State Government has asked the Center for a grant of Rs. 100 Crores - Rs. 50 crores of which is to be taken as a loan.

Mobile Phone users in Andhra Pradesh reaches One-million mark

Cellular Operators Association of India said that the number of Mobile Phone users in the state has moved to one-million. The association has released a complete list of statistics of user base from the four major cellular operators in the state.

Seed distribution to begin from June 16

Anantapur District Collector Mr. B Rajsekhar said that distribution of groundnut seeds under 50% Government subsidy will begin from June 16. He said that TMV-2 variety will cost Rs. 16.45 per kg and JL-24 will cost Rs. 17.50

Mamtha Kanjolia felicitated

Mamtha Kanjolia - Women Cricket from Andhra Pradesh who played against New Zealand recently was felicitated by the Sportive Cricket Coaching Academy at Mahabub College High School Grounds in Hyderabad.

A Short Circuit at Osmania General Hospital in Hyderabad left the hospital into darkness. Patients could not have tests X-ray unit and CT- scan not functioning.
