Crop Insurance to be implemented soon - promises CM
Chief Minister Mr. N Chandrababu Naidu announced today that the state Government will be considering village panchayat as a unit instead of Mandal for distributing Crop Insurance. He said that the implementation phase of the project begins shortly. He took part in Janmabhoomi program at Koonuru villege in Warangal. He interacted with the farmer community before taking part in the Grama Sabha. He became angry at local Agricultural officer who was unable to answer questions related to village statistics. He inquired about Groundnut crop and suggested to use drip irrigation. He inaugurated a bridge connecting the either side of Koonuru village. He said that Karanam Malleswari and Sania Mirza were icons to say that women are happy in the state.

Temple idols found destroyed in Shamshabad
Local people in Shamshabad were surprised to see idols of gods in a temple in destroyed. They informed the police who immediate came to the spot. Cyberabad Police Commissioner Mr. Reddy said that action will be taken on those who were found to be connected with the incident. People in the area said that this was the fourth such incident at the temple. Police tried their best in not making the issue as a communal story. Home Minister Mr. Devendar Goud said that security forces were deployed in the area to avoid any clashes and asked the people to maintain peace.

Karnataka delegation to study on Handloom sector
A 56-member delegation from Karnataka visited various co-operative societies working on Handloom Societies in Guntur. The delegation will soon meet CM and alter submit a report to the Karnataka Government.

Guntur District Educational Officer said that Prathiba Puraskarams for the year 2002-03 will be given to meritious students of 7th and 10th class exams.

MP Mr. MVVS Murthy, VUDA Chairman SA Rehman, former Health Minister Mrs. S Aruna and other monitored the blood donation campaign of NCC Unit of Dr. VS Krishna College. The blood was tested by KGH Blood bank.

ITC enters into food products
ITC Group entered into food products with their Ashirwad brand of products from launched in Hyderabad today. Mr. Ravi of ITC said that the products were for the first time launched in Hyderabad.

Union Minister asks Government to take suggestions from all-parties
Union Minister Mr. Ch Vidyasagara Rao stressed the need for strengthening the Janmabhoomi program and said that the Government has to convene an All-Party meeting to take suggestions. He said that the program was not able to solve all problems in any place though he said that he will be first in supporting the program.

People in Vijayawada began asking to solve issue raised in the Janmabhoomi program at the Grama Sabha today. Women in large numbers formed queues to give applications for Ration cards.

Excise Minister Mr. Tammineni Seetaram took part in Jamabhoomi Program at Kosamadu in Srikakulam. People in large numbers attended the program.

Guntur Mayor Ch Yesuratnam took part and spoke at the local Janmabhoomi program.

Activities of Students Federation of India who were present at the Janmabhoomi program at LB Nagar in Warangal raised slogans against the Government. People were seen to be keen in giving applications rather than for listening to leaders speeches.

Visakhapatnam Police arrested a person who used to sell children to childless parents in Sriram puram village near Pendurthy.

A 9 mm pistol from a naxal who was killed in an encounter at Venkatapuram mandal in Warangal. Another naxal escape from the spot when police were conducting combing operation in the region.

Mysterious virus claims more children
The number of children who died in Warangal with a mysterious disease reached 71 as 8 more died today while 9 died yesterday. 4 more children were in severe condition.

5 children died in Karimnagar yesterday. A delegation from Osmania University were treating the children who fell ill. Researchers at Delhi and Lucknow have collected blood samples and were on work to find out the reason and cure for the mysterious virus. Mosquitoes and Flies which were common in the slum areas were common though it was not found to be the exact reason.
