Minister holds meeting on Pulichintala Project
Minister Kadiyam Srihari organized a meeting with Retired Chief Engineers, Chief Engineers and Irrigation Department express in Hyderabad in regard to the Pulichintala Project. The meeting aimed at minimizing gap between Andhra and Telangana Engineers in fact worked the other way. Many of engineers were against the project.

Identifying the need for a discussions with both technical and political members, the Minister said that a commission will be setup to make sure water resources in the state ware effectively utilised. The committee will also look into master plans of various projects at state level. Minister also stressed the need of completion of projects in time keeping in view of the growing needs of both irrigation and drinking water requirements in the region.

Its Janmabhoomi time for CM
Chief Minister Mr. N Chandrababu Naidu has taken part in various programs undertaken as a part of the Janmabhoomi program in Rampur area. Interacting with the people, he said that action will be taken if Government employees does not stay in the area of their posting. He was angry at performance of an SE of the Electricity Department as people raised some comments on him.

Speaking at a meeting at Handekelur in Nizamabad district - located mere 120 kms from the neighboring state of Maharastra he said that the state Government is committed at completion of the Lendi Major Irrigation Project. The project is in pending state for the last 2 years and work is not progressing due to lack of proper funds.

SSC Supplementary Exam results released
SSC Supplementary Exam results were announced today. 46% of students who took the exams passed. This figure is 9.42% up compare to previous supplementary exams. The results were released by Education Department Secretary Mr. IV Subbarao at a program in Hyderabad. Warangal continued its trend for the third year standing top in the list with the most pass outs while Hyderabad was at the last.

Death toll due to the Golconda Express reaches 21

Women struck in Golconda Express Main Engine of the Express beign removed
The total deaths due to the Golconda Express accident in Warangal reached the 21 figure mark. A body was recovered from the bottom of the train while another from a nearby water that staggered due to rain. Train traffic in Warangal section was restored to normalcy. It took over 5 hours and two large cranes apart from hundreds of rescue workers to bring the rail engine back to the track. Many of those who were injured in the accident were admitted at the Warangal Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Hospital. Some of them were operated while many others were at hospital with broken hands and legs.

The accident costs the Railway Department to a tune of Rs. 2 crores. Though the Department said that a technical snap was reason, it later announced that the investigation committee that will look into the issue will state the exact reasons. 6 railway employees involved with the train were suspended from their duties.

Probe into train accident on July 5,6
RP Agarwal - Commissioner of Railway Safety of the South Central Circle, Secunderabad will be conducting an enquiry into the Golconda Express accident at the Warangal Railway Station Retiring Room from 10:00 AM. CM asks Center to implement technology to avert accident
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu wrote a letter to Prime Minister AB Vajpey asking the Central Government to consider using modern technology to avert rail accidents. He said that Anti-Collission Devices and GPS-based systems could be installed in trains.

TRS Chandrasekahara Rao TRS asks Govt. and oppositions for their stand on Rajolibanda project
Leader of Telangana Rastra Samithi (TRS) Mr. Chandrasekhara Rao said that the part is ready to mobilize supporters who are ready for doing works connected to the Rajolibanda project. He questioned why the Government and the opposition were calm in regard to implementation of the Central Water Tribunal allocations suggested in regarding to the project. He asked the stand of all parties on the topic and said that the project required Rs. 30 crores immediately for the sluice. The TRS leader is about to organize a Paada yatra that would reach Gadwal where a public meeting will be held at the TERU Grounds. Sri Chandrasekhara Rao also said that he received reports that the Government has asked the Election Commission for an extension of the Godavari Khani Municipality which was under the SC category.

A delegation of opposition party members including Assiruddin Owaisi and others met Governor Mr. Surjit Singh Baranala stating that the Government is not serious considering suggestions made by them in regard to Godavari river waters to Hyderabad.

Rani - a 19 year old was saved by a constable from Gandhinagar outpost when she tried to commit suicide by jumping from Tank bund. It is learnt that Rani married Kiran who kept her aside and was trying for another marriage.

Health Minister Mr. Kodela Sivaprasada Rao checked the health condition of children who were infected with a mysterious disease in Karimnagar. A section of congress workers blocked the Minister who said that the virus responsible was yet to be identified.

Kakinada police arrested a person who cheated youth luring them of giving jobs and loans from SC Corporation.

VUDA Master Plan to be released in September 2003
Vice Chairman of VUDA Mr. D Srinivasulu said that the draft of the Master Plan 2020 will be released during September this year. He said that the existing plan which was drafted in 1989 need modification and that the new plan will come into effect from April 2004.

Dr. Kakarla receives TANA Award
The Telugu Association of North America (TANA) gave Dr. Kakarla Subba Rao, this years TANA Award at its Annual Convocation held at San Jose, California. Dr. Subba Rao's contributions for health care and hospital administration.

A farmer died consuming pesticide in Nallaguttapalle village of Cuddapah district. He took the extreme step unable to pay back the loans taken for the cotton crop that failed. The incident happened when the Government was conducting Mahila Rythu Janmabhoomi program targeted at farmer community.

Student dies on taking food-poison food
A student staying at Social Welfare Residential High School of Rajpet in Nalgonda died due to severe stomach ache. It is believed that the food the he took earlier was the reason. Eight other friends of his who were found to have the same symptoms were immediately rushed to the hospital.
