18 killed in Golconda Express accident
18 persons died and 21 were injured when the speeding Guntur-Secunderabad Golconda Express fell near a bridge in Warangal. Ten of those who were dead were passengers of the train while the others were under the bridge at that time. The train moving at around 50 kms often has to slow down to 15kmph which it did not. Union Minister of State for Railways Sri Bandaru Dattatreya visited the region.

13 workers dies as truck overturns
As many as 13 laborers died when their cement carrying truck overturned in the early hours of morning near A Rayivalasa of Bhogapuram in Viziaganagarm. The Driver, Cleaner and another person escaped from the accident.

Mr. Sanjay Kumar takes over as new SP
Mr. Sanjay Kumar took over as the new SP in Visakhapatnam. He replaced Mr. Atul Singh who was transferred as Group Commander to the Greyhounds Squad at Hyderabad. Speaking with the press, Mr. Sanjay Kumar said that tackling naxals was on the top priority.

The letter was signed by TDP MLA's from the region - A Rajendra Prasad, M Venkata Subbaiah and G Uma.
