Sanitation drive begins in Andhra Pradesh
Chief Minister Mr. N Chandrababu Naidu inaugurated that state's drive for sanitation from a program at Nalgonda. He asked the State Government officials to see that sanitation drive is under taken at all parts of the state.

New insurance schemes of LIC launched
Union Minister Sri Bandaru Dattatreya inaugurated the Arogya Bheema insurance scheme of the Life Insurance Corporation of India at Hyderabad. As per the scheme targeted at the poor and weaker sections of the society, a premium of just Rs. 1 a day could be paid. An insurance claim of upto Rs. 30,000 aid in case of ill health could be made. Minister for Commercial Taxes K Vijaya Rama Rao inaugurated the Varista Insurance Plan targeted at senior citizens.

Minister Sri NMD Farooq released the results of Advanced Supplementary Intermediate Examinations.

A team involved in the manufacture of fake paints of leading Indian brands including Asian Paints and Nerolac was arrested in Vijayawada. Over Rs. 2 Lakh worth paints items were recovered from them. They used to sell the paints under the Saradhi Paints and Chemicals.

Visakha City Youth Congress organize a Political Training Camp for party activists. Leaders who spoke at the meeting asked the supporters to solve people problems.

Renowned terrorist Bharatakka surrender before Director General of Police Pervaram Ramulu today. There is a cash award for Rs. 3 lakh reward. Bharatakka joined hands with People's War Group activities in 1992. She cited her ill health as the reason.
