54th Republic Day Celebrated
The 54th Republic Day is celebrated in all parts of the State today. Governor Sri Surjit Singh Baranala hoisted the National flag at the Parade Grounds in Secunderabad. Later he took salute from State Police, Reserve Police, Scout and Guides. Speaking on the occasion, he said that the Government and people should work together to abolish terrorism in the state. He felt that development in the state is possible only if terrorism is abolished in the state. He said that India stands first in producing maximum number of scientists and software professionals in the world. Union Minister Sri Bandaru Dattatreya, Cabinet Ministers and other higher officials of the state took part.

Speaker Ms. Prathibha Bharathi hoisted the National flag at the Assembly.

As a part of the Republic day celebrations, Governor gave feast to the Ministers at Raj Bhavan.

High Court temporary Chief Justice Mr. Motilal V Naik hoisted flag at the High Court premises. Lawyers in large number took part in the program.

Sri Rammohan hoisted the National flag at Loka Yuktha.

The State Bharatiya Jantha Party celebrated the Republic day at their office in Hyderabad. T Ramachandra Reddy hoisted the national flag. BJP Party workers and others took part in the event.

The State Congress celebrated the Republic day at Gandhi Bhavan in Hyderabad. PCC President Mr. M Satyanarayana Rao hoisted the National flag.

The Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) celebrated the Republic Day function at the BR Ambedkar Stadium in Hyderabad.

Sri Rajeswara Rao hoisted the National Flag at the State Housing Board in Hyderabad.

Mr. Singla hoisted the National Flag at the Railway recreation club in Secunderabad. He gave away prizes to the best teams.

The Outlawed People's War Group created terror in the Warangal district when they killed a Congress worker.

State Congress says telephone charge hike is not positive
The State Congress demanded that the recent hike in the Telephone charges should be probed by the Supreme Court Chief Justice. They felt that though TRAI is an independent body, Minister Pramod Mahan has some influence on it.
