Increased burden on people likely in AP State Budget 2003
The Andhra Pradesh Government is believed to be increasing public charges and cut down some subsidy to improve the financial condition in the Budget. The Annual Fiscal Framework (AFF) Document will be made and talks on this will be held in all districts of the state between January 27 to 30.

40% of the Budgeted amount will be expected to be spent in Irrigation, Power subsidy to a tune of Rs. 6000 Crores to the farmers CM released the draft of the Budget in Hyderabad today. Loans and Deficit wil not be a problem. With feedback from the public the Budget will be finalized by February 10, 2003 2000 hecters water sprinklers

Mining at Singareni Collieries stops as Union members go on strike
Mining at the Singareni Collieries came to a stand still with Mining Union members going on strike. Production of coal at the 54 underground and 12 opencast mines was stopped from the 7 AM shift.

J & K invites investments
The Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Mr. Mufti Mohammad Sayeed was in Hyderabad at the CII-Interaction Meet and said that his state is keen in inviting investments and showcasing a 'Vision Kashmir'. He said that IT, Electronics and Hardware, Floriculture, Sericulture, Food Processing, Biotechnology, Precision engineering and Power were the key sectors that the Government of J & K has identified as the key in the state.

VMC to share Rs. 50 Crores for Godavari waters
Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation said that it can allocate Rs. 50 Crores in the effort by the Government to get Godavari waters to the district. This was announced by Municipal Commissioner Mr. Naveen Mittal talking to a deligation of Godavari Jala Sadhana Samithi who met him.

9 persons dead of whom 4 were women and 15 more were injured in a road accident in Cuddapah. The accident occurred when a lorry carrying a load of fruits from Rajannapeta fell down into agricultural fields 25 feet down.

CCMB's research says Andaman tribes have a unique DNA timestamp
The Center for Cellular and Microbiology, Hyderabad said that it has conducted a research on Andaman tribes and that this revealed that the tribes were not of African or Asian. The DNA tests pointed that the tribes have a unique identity and that their origin date back to 1 Lakh years BC. However concerns are found about the number of Ongy tribe remaining - the number of which is at a mere 100. A Video presentation was organized for the press that depicted the research work.
