Revenue Department almost complete with State Budget 2003
Chief Minister Mr. N Chandrababu Naidu said that each and every pie that is spent by the Government will be noted and accounted for. He inaugurated the State-level workshop at Dr. Marri Chenna Reddy Human Resources Development Center in Hyderabad and spoke on the Budget 2003-04. He said that the Ministers team will be divided into 8 groups to discuss on various issues under their Departments and that the aim of the Government with this budget is to reduce non-planned expenditure.

Hi-tech Chief Minister also said that web cams will be used to record the scenes and that Departments have to concentrate on results and look for more avenues that increase income of the Government, particularly with the Planning Department. Minister Sri Yenemala said that loans will come to a manageable level by 2005 and that the tune of loans already taken by Government is at Rs. 54,000 Lakh Crores.

Strike of Singareni Collieries seems inevitable
The Management of Singareni Collieries met the workers union in the afternoon today with no progress in the discussions between the two. Union leaders also met on the table with Cabinet team, the talks of which also failed. The situation is now making it compulsory for the Union to go on strike.

Velugu program giving results - says Government
The State Government said that the Velugu program is a social program and was showing results. It announced today criticizing the comments made by CLP Leader Dr. Y S Rajasekhar Reddy. The Second Phase of the program that begins on April 1, 2003 will be getting funds to a tune of Rs. 1400 crores. The ambitious program is expected to be benefited by 19 Lakh families by 2005 with 9 Lakhs families already benefited by the end of first phase according to Government statistics.

Milk production in Visakha Dairy came to a halt today with technical snags coming up. As a result, over 4 lakh liters of milk that was to be collected from farmers in the region was not done. This made dairy farmers to sell milk on their own.

The ESI Hospitals said that they tied up with 21 Super Specialty Hospitals to provide better services to the people in the state. The Central Committee which came from Delhi, visited the hospital in Tirupati.

A Melukolupu campaign is being held in Srikakulam to motivate the naxalities to join the people in the society. Police Officer Sivadhar Reddy spoke on the occasion.

Nursery Mela in Kadiyam extended
The Nursery Mela in Kadiyam of East Godavari district is extended to another 3 days. The Organizers said they extended the exhibition, as they are getting good response from the public.

Police recovered 3 boxes of landmines at Gunjedu agency area of Warangal district. The police doubts that these are kept by WAR to kill the politicians who will come here for election campaigning. They said that 20 kg Gilletin is found in each landmine.

United Teachers Forum asked the Government to take over various Aided colleges running in the state.

The State BJP Party said that it will be starting its second phase of "Dunna Galigevadide Bhoomi" program starting February 11, 2003. The campaign will begin from Srikakulam.
