A day of accidents in AP as over 30 dies in separate accidents
10 persons died and 11 more were injured when a Jeep collided with a RTC bus in Cuddapah. In another incident, 6 people died and 5 more were injured in a road accident in Medak in the afternoon. The accident occurred when a Lorry hit an Auto on the National Highway 7. The injured were given first aid in Anantapur and later sent to Hyderabad.

A Committee from NABARD visited the Mangalagiri mandal of Guntur district to assess the situation. The Committee came here to provide financial help to the 'Ettipothala' scheme.

Birth Anniversary of Sri Marri Chenna Reddy observed
The 84th Birth Anniversary of Former Chief Minister Marri Chenna Reddy was celebrated today in Gandhi Bhavan, Hyderabad. Congress Leaders including M. Satyanarayana Rao paid tributes and garlanded the portrait of Chenna Reddy.

The CPI confirmed that they will work for a united Andhra state. Senior CPI Leader Mr. Vardhan said that the party is hopeful of achieving double digit seats in the legislation in the next elections.

Union Minister Ch. Vidyasagara Rao said that BJP still considers creation of smaller states. He however confirmed that creation of a separate Telengana state will be considered only after 2004 .

The 'Godavari Jalala Sadhana Samiti' said that they are going to organise an agitation in Hyderabad from 27 to 31st of this month. Speaking to the press in Visakhapatnam, Convener of the Samiti Mr. Konathala Ramakrishna said that they would hold agitations in Visakhapatnam and Bhimili before going to Hyderabad.

Andhra Bank increases its computerized branches number
The Chairman of Andhra Bank Mr. B. Vasanthan inaugurated the computerized branch in Hyderabad. Speaking on the occasion, he said that all branches will be computerized by the end of year.

The 3 day Kho-Kho championships concluded today in Visakhapatnam. The team of Vijayanagaram bagged more medals. District Collector Mr. Sunil Sharma presented awards to the winners.

Kite Competition and Exhibition begins at Hyderabad
The 3 day Kite competition began at Necklace Road in Hyderabad. Minister Mr. Talasani Srinivasa Rao inaugurated the event which is participated by participants from round the world. The Japan Kite Association said that they would organise a campaign in Hyderabad.

The Virasam Sahitya School was inaugurated today in Anantapur. The School is named after Paritala Sriramulu. Speaking on the occasion, Virasam President Mr. Prasad said that the school will be very helpful to the people.
