Police foils Opposition party hunger strike program
Police interrupt the hunger strike attempt by Opposition party members by arresting them when they are on their way. Among those that were arrested were APCC President Mr. M Satyanarayana Rao, CLP Leader Dr. Y S Rajasekhar Reddy and others and were sent to Umberpet Police Station. Other Leaders including Mr. Assiruddin Owasi, BV Raghavulu, Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy and other MLA's and Political leaders were also arrested. They were released later in the evening.

The Bundh called by People's War Group was evident in Adilabad and other surrounding districts. Over 50 supporters of CPI arrested were arrested in Karimnagar. Many supporters of Congress and CPI who tried to disrupt common businesses in the districts of Warangal and Karimnagar were also arrested.

Forest Department targeting Rs. 88 Crores for the year
Minister for Forests Mr. Ch Ayyannapatrudu said that the target for the next year from the Forest Department in collection revenue is set at Rs. 88 Crores. He asked his Department members to work towards this by making the necessary planning at Tirupati.

The Democratic Teachers Association organised a seminar on Literacy and abolishment of Child Labour in Warangal. Minister Mr. K Sri Hari requested the people to support the Government in achieving this.

Mr. RP Singh said in Tirupati said that though Gulf War comes, APSRTC won't increase the fares and that the current increase is inevitable failing which the Corporation would fall into deep difficulties.

The CPI and other farmer associations of Anantapur held a dharna in front of the Collectorate. They demanded to cancel interests on the agricultural loans and for identification of 1000 areas as drought hit.
