Finance Minister Releases Budget
Finance Minister Mr. Y. Ramakrishnudu presented the budget for 2003-04 at the Assembly. The 43, 480 crore budget showed a revenue deficit of Rs. 2131.58 crores. Mr. Ramakrishnudu said that the Government decided to increase plan allocations for the irrigation sector, agriculture and allied services, general education, rural development and poverty. He said that revenue deficit is equivalent to 1.17 per cent of GSDP.

Chalo Assembly programme plan announced
The United Electricity Employees Union has announced that they would hold Chalo Assembly programme on March 31. In a statement released by the union secretary, R. Sudha Bhaskar said that the protest is against the Privatisation process going on regard to sub-stations/transformations.

Minister denies Connection with attack on Congress MLA
N. Kistappa, the animal husbandry minister denied having any connection with the attack on Congress MLA P. Ravinder Reddy. Speaking at a press conference, Mr. Kistappa said that he had never associated himself with any criminal offence all through his political career.
