CM says his Government is committed at getting river waters to Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam
Chief Minister Mr. N Chandrababu Naidu said today in Assembly that his Government is making all plans to get River Krishna water to Hyderabad by March and River Godavari waters to Visakhapatnam by November. He said that any developments in the state of the state were made during the TDP era and not during the Congress rule. He said that lakhs of area of land have come to irrigation during the rule. He said that work will be shown to people at mandals levels.

Discussions on the Governor's speech were continuing for the fourth day in the Assembly. Opposition and Left parties felt unhappy and raised topics on Governor speech. Some parties said that the speech was not reflecting the actual facts. MIM Leader Mr. Assiruddin Owaisi said that BJP was making the demands of Sungh Parivar stronger and this is visible particularly in Coastal Andhra. He asked TDP's stand on the issue. TRS Leader K Chandrasekhar Rao questioned about the investments routes and implementation plan. Home Minister Sri Devendar Gowd said that K Chandrasekhar Rao has been making comments on individuals in public meetings and at the Assembly and that this is not fair.

Minister for Power Sri Kottapalle Subbaraidu said that the state is aiming at generating more power and that it will be promoting coal projects at Manuguru, Sattipalli and other areas. He said open case mining works will begin shortly.

CLP Leader Dr. Y S Rajasekhar Reddy and Sri Maisoora Reddy said that Regulatory Commission is acting according to the tunes of the Government and that it is active at purchasing power from the private sector at a higher rate. They said that it would not be surprising even if purchase deals in regard to power are taken overnight.

The Government clarified that there will be no Entry Tax for Tobacco that enters into the state from outside. It stated that alternative arrangements for state farmers will be considered. The Oppositions however asked for the implementation of the tax to save the state farmer.

18 Auto Unions decided to end their strike after meeting Home Minister Sri Devendar Gowd promising to see that will not be any police harassments in the future. The union members also asked for a meeting with Municipal Corporation members in regard to parking places.

Police in Rangareddy registered a case against four people in Dachepalle who were involved in a attacked a youth man on charges of theft. The four, coming from upper castes of the society, attacked the young man in an 'unfair manner'. The four have absconded the area.

APSRTC Staff and Workers Federation members staged a demonstration outside the RTO Office in Vijayawada against Autos. They raised said that autos were the prime reason for the losses of the Corporation.

Renowned Social Reformers Ms. Medha Patker and Sandeep Mandey toured Pendurthy area of Visakhapatnam. The two were promoting the cause of 'Save Water - Save Nation'

Joint Action Committee formed by Left and Opposition parties in Vijayawada began hunger strike asking for the decrease of water tax imposed by the Municipal Corporation.

Tube India International 2003 Exhibition begins at HITEX
Chief Minister Mr. N Chandrababu Naidu inaugurated Tube India International 2003 Exhibition at HITEX in Hyderabad. Essen Welding India 2003 and Sheet Metal India 2003 also began at the venue. Vendors, Industrialist and Experts in the field were taking in the three day exhibition event.

International Mother Language Day observed
International Mother Language Day was observed in all schools and colleges in the state. Minister for Primary Education Sri Mandava Vankateswara Rao said that telugu will be promoted at primary education level in all schools in the state. He earlier garlanded the statue of Telugu Talli in Hyderabad. BJLP Member Sri Lakshmi suggested that all legislative members have to use proper Telugu in the assembly.

Supporters of former MLA from Gorantla Mr. P Ravinder Reddy attacked the house of rival Mr. Ranga Reddy . They burnt a jeep parked at his house. Police came on a quick alert and took the family members to a safe place.
