CM holds cabinet meet to discuss on Government policies
Chief Minister Mr. N Chandrababu Naidu has held a Cabinet meeting to take suggestions on means to go more closer to the common man. Some of the members of the cabinet suggested that immediate approval of ration cards is the best method as people were eagerly waiting from the Government's side. The meeting also discussed on the topics that Governor Sri Barnala would be speaking at the inauguration day of the State Assembly.

Transport Commissioner Mr. Giridhar said that the Government of Andhra Pradesh is considering the implementation of video cameras at Driving test centers to monitor the movements of applicants for driving licenses. He spoke to the press in Vijayawada.

Congress Party supporters blocked the roads at Bangalore Highway in Tirupati against the hike of APSRTC Bus fare and Telephone Charges.

Representative of Prime Minister Officer on Special Duty Mr. Padmanabhayya visited Visakhapatnam and visited the Janashakti Sikshana Mandal Center which is providing training facilities in various fields. Former MP Dr. Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad said that the Center was providing training programs on Computer software, Health care, Marketing, Handicrafts and other areas. Speaking on the occasion, Sri Padmanabhayya said that quality is a curial factor in making a sale and that as long as it is maintained business will flourish well.

Congress organizes seminar on Draft Budget 2003
Pradesh Congress Party has organized a Seminar on Draft Budget 2003 in Hyderabad. Noted speakers at the seminar felt that the Budget isn't as per the expectation and that giving funds to priority and then ignoring its status has become common by the Government. Sri K Rosayya felt that the budget makes no good to the common man while CPM Secretary Mr. BV Raghavulu felt that it would be of not much use unless the needful sectors are being identified and rescued.

Flamingos Festival begins
Minister Sri Chandramohan Reddy and Somi Reddy inaugurated the festival of flamingo birds - Flamingo Festival at Sullurpet in Nellore district. Speaking at the program, Tourism Minister said that with the new plans of the Government in the tourism sector, as much as Rs. 15600 crores was collected as a part of various ventures. The exhibits organized at the festival center attracted great crowds.

Railway Police Force has recovered over 15,000 packets of Gutkha from a train in Guntur. It may be recalled that Gutkha was banned in the state of Andhra Pradesh.

Justice Bikshapathy laid the foundation stone for District Consumer Forum Building in Kurnool.

Chief of Velugu Program Mr. Heeralal Samaria address the Velugu Coordinators meeting at Guntur. He asked the them to formulate a statistics report by the end of March.

District Level Karate Competitions began in Nizamabad district. Rajya Sabha Member Sri A M Khan inaugurated the sports meet.

Andhra University Horticulture show was inaugurated by Vice Chancellor of the University Prof. YC Simhadri at the University Engineering College. The show will be open till February 14, 2003

An International Seminar on TB was held at Hyderabad. Over 100 National and International experts were taking part in the seminar.
