APSRTC Bus fare hike inevitable - says CM
Chief Minister Mr. N Chandrababu Naidu said that there are good reasons for hiking the fare of APSRTC Buses in view of the increasing cost of fuel as tension begins to rise in the Gulf countries over yet another war with Iraq. He said that the total losses by RTC is to a tune of Rs. 850 Crores. He spoke at a TDP Extended General Body Meeting where TDPP Leader Mr. K Yerran Naidu was also present.

Singareni Collieries strike politically motivated
Speaking on the Singareni Collieries, he said that the strike was politically motivated and that with the 25% of the staff who were attending the duties, the Management could achieve 80% of the production. He said that this is a wrong time for the strike when the company was looking to reach profit figures in its 35 years history.

Naxal's of the People's War Group blasted the house of Chennamaneni Vengal Rao in Vemulawada mandal of Karimnagar. Meanwhile, Police have recovered 30 detonators, utensils, revolutionary literature and other items from a dump in Ponugondala village of Kothauda Mandal in Warangal.

AP Genco to increase its capacity
Chairman and Managing Director of AP Genco, Mr. J Parthasaradhy said that AP Genco will be adding 5000 MW power capacity in the coming four years time. He spoke with the officials of the Corporation at the 17th Managing Committee Meeting held in Hyderabad.

Draw for WTA Indian Open Tennis out
International Tennis Star Mary Pierce was in Hyderabad to take up the draw for WTA Indian Open Tennis. She met Chief Minister Mr. N Chandrababu Naidu and was delighted to see Hyderabad gearing up for the event. The Tennis event will be held between February 3-8, 2003.
