State Government freezes BSNL Bank Accounts
Hyderabad
The State Government has frozen the bank accounts related to the Government owned Telecom major - BSNL for not paying sales tax on phone rentals for the year 2002-03. BSNL needs to pay Rs. 44 Crores to come out of this problem. Principle General Manager (Operations) of BSNL - G Venkatasubaiah - said that this problem was created as BSNL did not collect the taxes from the customers during the period.
AP to promote "Incredible India" tagline

Chief Minister Mr. N Chandrababu and Tourism Minister T Srinivas Yadav said that Andhra Pradesh will be the most benefit with the “Incredible India” tagline as it the state has all the necessary facilities to promote tourism. Chief Minister inaugurated the “Fourth International Conference cum Showcase – “India Tourism and Heritage – Challenge 21”. The 3-day event was organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry.

Mr. Naidu said that the country is expecting to host 40 million foreign tourists by the year 2020.

Vice Chairman of China National Administration – Gu Zhaoxi, Secretary to the Union Ministry of Tourism – Rathi Vinay Jha, Chairman of the CII National Committee on Tourism and Heritage – Maharaja Gaj Singh, Chairman of CII Andhra Pradesh K Satish Reddy and others were present at the inauguration meet.
Petrol Tankers go on strike in Rangareddy

With almost all Petroleum Tankers in the city going on strike in Ranga Reddy and the twin cities, huge demand for petrol was created. Large queues were seen at petrol bunks for petrol.
Visakhapatnam NIO to get Rs. 1 Crore from Consultancy services

Director of the Visakhapatnam Regional Center of the National Institute of Oceanography (NIO) Mr. KSR Murhy said that the Center will get its own building for its office and Laboratory to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 1.6 Crores. He said that the Organization is expecting to get Rs. 1 Crore from consultancy services.
Accident at Solvent plant kills two
Adilabad
An accident at a Soyabean Solvent Plant in Adilabad claimed the lives of two workers from Kerala. The dead were engaged for a welding work at the plant.
