D Srinivas is new AP Congress Committee President
Hyderabad: August 8, 2003

D Srinivas takes over as new President as MSR resigns
Senior Congress Leader M Satyanarayana Rao submitted his resignation from the post of PCC President. He submitted a letter to AICC President Sonia Gandhi which was accepted. Later, State Congress Party Incharge Gulam Nabi Aazad announced that D Srinivas, MLA, Deputy Leader of the Legislature and former Minister as the new PCC President. MSR served the party as its President for three years.

Congress leaders greets Srinivas on his appointment
The selection of Srinivas was a surprise to many of his friends and well-wishers who congratulated him. He said that the main task is to bring co-ordination among the various sections of the Party so that they move on a common track. He said that since he has no political rivals and since he is friendly with everyone in the party, this would not be a mammoth task. Srinivas was happy at the appointment and said that his long pending ambition was fulfilled due to this. Asifnagar MLA D Nagender met D Srinivas at his residence at Banjara Hills to congratulate. Supporters of YS Rajasekhara Reddy were very happy at the decision of Ms. Sonia Gandhi.
