Farmers in Kurnool demonstrate for giving inferior seeds Farmers in Kurnool staged a Rastha Rokho blocking transport system between Cuddapah-Anantapur and Hyderabad for over 2 hours. The farmers were given with inferior quality seeds by the Government. The Police tried to clear up the farmers from the road but did not succeed. District Revenue Officer Lakshmi Kantham who was informed about the situation by the Police convinced the farmers stating that the AP Seeds Corporation has agreed to get the desired variety of seeds by tomorrow night. CPI and CPM parties supported the demonstration of the farmers. The farmer community said that they will intensify the demonstration if the Government does not stand on its word. The farmers were insisting on Sunbred 275, Ganga Kaveri and Parry variety of seeds instead of an unknown brand. Visitors for Godavari Pushkarams reaches 2 Crores The number of visitors to the banks of River Godavari reached peak today. Over 2 crores devotees were believed to have visited the Godavari river to take a holy dip - a major fraction - 1.25 Crores visiting Rajahmundry. MLA Butchayya Choudary, Mayor Chaudary and other Corporators of Rajahmundry Municipality took holy dip in the river today. Dust Bins distributed as a part of Waste Management Nalgonda Collector JC Sarma distributed colored dust bins to household in Suryapet as a part of a Waste Management system implemented.
