Special tribunal for River Krishna
Union Minister Mrs Sushma Swaraj said that a tribunal will be set up in regard to utilization of waters from River Krishna. She also said that Hyderabad will be the venue for the Afro-Asian Games. The total budget for the conduction of the games is Rs. 103 Crores.

CLP holds meet aimed at uniting party members
CLP Leader Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy has organized a special meet to discuss on Telangana and water problem in the state. He suggested PCC President D Srinivas to bring a solution that is acceptable by all. The four MLA's who said that they were coming out of Congress and set up a new party for the Telangana also attended the meeting. Speaking on House construction works, Dr. Reddy said that the cost of construction were very high and that such works were undertaken by TDP-supported contractors.

Transport Department begins checks on school busses
The Transport Department began checking the condition of various school busses. Over 50 to 60% of the busses were found to be unfit to move on the road. The permit of 15 busses of Jubliee Hills Public School in Hyderabad were cancelled as the condition of the busses was extremely bad.

CM lays foundation stone for Visakhapatnam-Bheemili Beach Road
Chief Minister Mr. N Chandrababu Naidu laid the foundation stone for the expansion works of the Visakhapatnam-Bheemili Beach Road. The total cost for the work is around Rs.40 Crores. He also laid the stone for the underground drainage system of the Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation, the works which costs Rs. 20 Crores.

AP financial position ok - says TDP Spokesman
TDP Spokesman Ummareddy Venkateswarulu said that the TDP has done its best in not introducing any new taxes and still managing to run the Government smoothly. He said that Andhra Pradesh fares well when compared to other states. He said that the financial condition is stable and that the Government has already began repaying for the loans it has taken.

Senior Congress Leader P Janardhan Reddy visited various surrounding areas of Rajiv Gandhi Nagar and was unhappy at the stagnation of rain water for days together. He said that the Government has promised to see that this type of problem never occurs during the previous water stagnation in Hyderabad when the roads were flooded with water for days together but has no taken any steps to keep the problem under control.

The Government organized a meet with Hyderabad Utsav Committee, local leaders and Politicians, Peace and Social group members, MLAs and MPs in regard to the smooth conduction of the upcoming Ganesh Utsav in the twin cities. The Government said that all necessary permits will be given and that Electricity and Cranes will be provided as required. Tourism Minister T Srinivasa Yadav, Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya, BJP State Unit President N Indrasena Reddy and others spoke at the meet.

Union Minister Ch Vidyasagar Rao asked the Union Government to declare September 15 as holiday in the Telangana as it was on this day that Telangana got separation. He said that having forgot this achievement is a big mistake.

Minister for Excise T Sitaram ordered closure of all 'belt shops' selling cheap liquor. Also banned were 3 of the 15 brands the fall under the O Category. The ban was on Black Horse, Golden Finger and Indra.
